Coppertail Brewing Co. has brewed a hazy IPA, Coral Haze, to assist the Florida Aquarium in their effort to save coral reefs around the world.
Coral Haze is a turbid, unfiltered pale ale, which is hop forward in its fruitiness and aroma. The haze is a by-product of unfiltered beer with heavy late hop additions that creates a creamy mouthfeel.
Proceeds from every pint of Coral Haze will go to The Florida Aquarium to assist their critical conservation efforts. A release party is set for Friday, May 11, at 4 PM at Coppertail. Florida Aquarium’s CEO, Roger Germann, will pull the first pint of Coral Haze.
“We are proud to launch Tampa Bay’s newest locally-inspired beer with a purpose, Coral Haze, with our friends at Coppertail Brewing Company,” said Roger Germann, President and CEO of The Florida Aquarium. “Our coral reefs are the rainforests of the sea, and they are in trouble. The Florida Aquarium is committed to restoring our state’s endangered reefs, and beer lovers can help support our efforts by enjoying a refreshing pint of Coral Haze today. Cheers to Coppertail Brewing and coral.”
Coppertail Brewing Co. has a strong connection with all things under the sea. After all, the mythical Coppertail creature resides among the corals and other sea life, and maintaining its abundance is essential to the Coppertail’s happiness.
Kent Bailey, Coppertail’s president, said, “We are a brewery founded on a love for Florida’s oceans and beaches. That passion is reflected in our bottle labels, our beer names, and even the name of our brewery. We’re happy to support the Florida Aquarium and their conservation efforts with this special beer. Perhaps in time, The Florida Aquarium can even help reverse the decline of mysterious sea monsters like the Coppertail.”
Coral Haze Pale Ale will be available while supplies last at the taproom at Coppertail and at Fins Cantina at The Florida Aquarium.
