Event Details

Neighbors of Lee Elementary School in Tampa say they experienced their power flickering on and off before it was restored on Wednesday evening, September 12. Not long after power came back on they smelled smoke and heard fire fighters racing to the school’s location.
The three-alarm fire ravaged the school in the early evening as neighborhood residents looked on. Damages to the building and its contents are estimated at over $5 million. The school, built in 1906, is located at 305 E. Columbus Drive. Over 360 students and 49 faculty and staff have been relocated to another school close by in Hillsborough County.
“We’re not just a brewery, we’re a part of this community,” said Kent Bailey, Coppertail’s president. “We all live in this area and our hearts broke when we heard about the kids at Lee losing so much. We want to do what we can to help.”
Coppertail will donate $1 towards the school's reconstruction from the sale of every beer sold in the tap room from 5 pm to 8 pm on October 4, and additional monetary donations will be accepted. Items donated by local businesses will be raffled off during the event.
Check Coppertail’s Facebook page for updates on raffle items and more information.
