It's really hard to go wrong at Ocean Prime. It's pricey but absolutely worth it. If you aren't in the mood for seafood they also do some amazing ribeyes.
Ocean Prime is a beautiful restaurant. The inside is slick and screams of class. The outside is also amazing and a great place to have some drinks and enjoy some light food. I love their truffle mac and cheese and their truffle popcorn is also pretty good and complimentary. Not a place to go for a cheap date - but to enjoy an elegant evening out. There really is not many places in Tampa like Ocean Prime. Their special event room is also pretty neat - my Aunt hosted her birthday there once - you can customize the music in the room (nice because the live music can sometimes be pretty awful here) and it just reinforces the classy decor of Ocean Prime. Side note: I once ran into Derek Jeter from in the bathroom here. Haha.

I came here to dine on my birthday back in August. we made reservations and told them we were celebrating a birthday. they nicely decorated the table with happy birthday confetti and the service was excellent! the fried calamari is definitely a go-to as an app. I ordered the teriyaki salmon as my entree and I was blown away! it was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. for dessert we got the warm butter cake and it was absolutely to die for!
Pros: live music each night!
