The Contemporaries are thrilled to take a private tour of the corporate collection of luxury retailer Neiman Marcus at Tampa’s International Plaza.
Event Details
Curator of Contemporary Art, Katherine Pill and Kurt Piazza, President of The Contemporaries Committee, will provide a guided walk through of this diverse collection featuring both local and regional artists, including Richard Beckman, Mernet Larsen, and Charles Parkhill. Visitors will also learn about the history of collecting started by Neiman’s former president, Stanley Marcus (“Mr. Stanley”), and the retailer’s program of exhibiting regional artists based on each store’s location.

The Contemporaries was formed to build engagement among contemporary art enthusiasts with the Museum of Fine Art’s diverse programming, with a focus on supporting contemporary artists and exhibitions throughout the Tampa Bay area. The educational meets the social at The Contemporaries’ events, which include visits to artists’ studios and collectors’ homes; trips to contemporary institutions; and fundraising initiatives.
