Presented annually by Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, the Seminole Hard Rock Gasparilla Pirate Fest celebrates Jose Gaspar’s takeover of Tampa.
Event Details
The day begins with the Gasparilla Invasion when hundreds of pirates board the Jose Gasparilla and an accompanying flotilla to set sail across Hillsborough Bay to the Tampa Convention Center.
With the key to city firmly in-hand, more than 140 krewes, floats, marching bands and social organizations join our group of merry pirates for a 4.5 mile-long parade along Tampa’s famed Bayshore Boulevard celebrating their victory. Beads, coins, and other Gasparilla treasures are tossed into an excited crowd of more than 200,000 visitors and locals, as our pirates share their booty.
