Description
River Tower Festival
Event Details
The Sulphur Springs Water Tower is more than just an architectural feature in our urban core; it is a locally famous historic landmark that lives in the memories of generations of Tampa residents and visitors and a gathering spot for our community to engage and enjoy the natural beauty of our city. Established in 1927, the tower supplied drinking water to the area until 1933. In 1971, the city became the area’s main water supplier and the tower was no longer used.
Time and abandonment has taken its toll on the beautiful Sulphur Springs Water Tower so festival founders and the 501©3 Old Seminole Heights Neighborhood Association (OSHNA) have teamed up to create The River Tower Festival in order to raise non-profit funding to help in restoration, enhancement, preservation and maintenance of The Sulpher Springs Water Tower landmark. The festival will be held in the beautiful riverfront green space of River Tower Park where the tower stands. The festival will feature talented, local and regional musicians of various genres, local visual artists, food and goods vendors, and a family-friendly environment coming together as a community to support an important cause.
