Responsibilities

The Count Team Member is responsible for collecting, sorting, counting, and recording of gaming results as well as the overall operation of the soft count room and currency counting equipment

 

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.
  • Records Cash drop
  • Verifies documentation removed from drop boxes with information recorded on master game worksheet
  • Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times
  • Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility
  • Responsible for the transportation of departmental wheeled carts to and from secured locations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, minimum  one (1) year cash handling experience preferred, ideally in the casino or banking industry
  • Strong cash handling and counting skills.
  • Must have proficient basic math skills with ten key experiences.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and other team members
  • Conducts themselves in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations, and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable entertainment experience.
  • Ability to develop knowledge of computer systems, both company and vendor provided, to a proficient level.
  • Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals.
  • Must present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional demeanor.
  • Must be able to work in a very fast paced environment while adhering to strict guidelines and controls. Must be detail oriented.

Work Environment:

  • Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in the back of house of the casino, which can be faced-paced with excessive noise. Also, there may be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; lift and or move up to 40 lbs. repeatedly; and talk or hear. The incumbent must occasionally move and/or lift up to 100 pounds and move wheeled carts weighting up to 600 pounds. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception.

The Tribal Council gives preference in all of its employment practices to Native Americans. First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements. Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.

 

Employment Process:

Seminole Gaming’s employment process requires candidates to obtain gaming licensure by successfully completing a background check with Seminole Gaming Compliance and Regulations, prior to beginning employment. These background checks may include, but are not limited to:
