Event Details
So for BeerFest 2019, presented by Beach Community Bank, Tampa Theatre is going to kick back, maybe take in a ball game, maybe steal a car, and celebrate Ferris Brewer’s Day Off from 7:00-10:00pm Saturday, July 27 with an evening of craft beers and local brewers, plus snacks and samples from some of the city’s top independent restaurants. (No word yet on whether Abe Froman will be there.)
A limited-capacity premium sampling begins at 7:00 p.m., and advance-sale tickets are $65. Grand sampling ticket-holders can enter at 8:00 p.m., and advance-sale tickets are $40. Tampa Theatre Members save $5 off advance-sale prices, and tickets are available at the Tampa Theatre Box Office or online (convenience fees apply).
Like previous beer-soaked, tongue-in-cheek BeerFest events, Ferris Brewer’s Day Off is chaired by Tampa Theatre’s favorite partners in crime, Veronica Danko, owner of The Independent Bar and Cafe; and Michelle Baker. And though the theme may be silly, BeerFest’s purpose is most serious: Now in its 8th year, the (almost) annual event benefits the historic landmark’s artistic, educational and community programs, as well as its ongoing preservation.
BeerFest guests are invited don their cheetah-print vest and sneakers, dress as their favorite Ferris Bueller character, or come in a costume inspired by the movie.
Patrons must be 21 or older to attend BeerFest; valid Government-issued ID is required for entry.
