The event is Fest… WineFest… when Tampa Theatre presents Vino Royale, a Bond-themed fundraising weekend on Feb. 22-23:
Event Details
A two-tiered Wine Tasting on Friday with dozens of boutique wines, small plates from Tampa’s top independent restaurants, and premium silent auction items representing Bay area retailers, restaurants, services, and attractions. Premium admission starts at 7:00 pm and tickets are $90; Grand admission starts at 8:00 pm and tickets are $55. Tampa Theatre Members save $10 off either level.
And though the theme may be silly, WineFest’s purpose is most serious: now in its 17th year, this weekend serves as the landmark theatre’s biggest annual fundraiser. Event chair Fred Zielinski notes that while James Bond may not have been much of a wine drinker, Tampa Theatre itself has a way of both shaking and stirring the hearts and minds of the community with its artistic and educational programming, as well as the 92-year-old movie palace’s ongoing preservation and restoration.
Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite character or come in Bond-inspired costumes.
