Gasparilla Pre-Invasion Celebration Concert Night

The Second Annual Gasparilla Charity Concert & Pre-Invasion Celebration, presented by Budweiser will take place on the Pirate Fest Stage in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in downtown, Tampa on Friday January 29th. This year the festivities begin before the pirates invade the city!

The Swon Brothers will headline the Gasparilla Pre-Invasion Celebration, presented by Budweiser as the kick-off to an expanded Seminole Hard Rock Gasparilla Pirate Fest weekend in Tampa. The event will take place in downtown Tampa’s Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, and gates will open at 5 p.m., with The Hip Abduction opening at 6 p.m.

Howie Day has been confirmed as Special Guest, with The Hip Abduction opening the 2016 show. “We are delighted to host The Swon Brothers, Howie Day and The Hip Abduction for our 2nd Annual Gasparilla Pre-Invasion Celebration.

The Swon Brothers won NBC’s The Voice competition in 2014, and will open for Carrie Underwood’s 40-city Spring 2016 Tour beginning in Jacksonville on 1/30/2016.

Gasparilla Pirate Fest has historically hosted its main concert on Saturday evening following the Gasparilla Parade of the Pirates, presented by Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla (YMKG). In an effort to expand Gasparilla Pirate Fest and encourage visitors to come to Tampa for the entire weekend, the decision was made to move the GPF Concert to Friday night, and to create a Pre-Invasion Celebration that would benefit the YMKG Gasparilla Community Fund and one of the local charities selected to host a beer garden at Gasparilla Pirate Fest in 2016. This year, the Pepin Academies will host the beer garden on Curtis Hixon for both Friday’s Pre-Invasion Celebration as well as Saturday for the Invasion and Parade.
