Description
Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Some people join the Kiwanis Club of Tampa because they like what we do. Doing good deeds makes members feel good. Helping children, seniors and others who need assistance has been our mission for 90 years. Our members also enjoy the camaraderie and friendships that develop from building wheelchair ramps for our neighbors who could not otherwise afford them, hosting a Christmas Party for deserving children, making Easter baskets for seniors, serving up barbecue to raise money for our programs, and a number of other projects. We raise money for student scholarships and to support organizations such as Metropolitan Ministries, the Salvation Army, the Children's Home and Meals on Wheels. We also give youth the chance to help others and build a positive future. Our club sponsors youth programs at local elementary, middle and high schools, as well as the college level.
Members also make new friends by attending our weekly lunch meetings that feature interesting speakers, as well as our occasional Kiwanis After Hours evening events, which are great networking opportunities. Service and friendship are what makes our very diverse group "the best club." Take a look around our site to learn more. We would love to have you join and become involved with the Kiwanis Club of Tampa. If you would like more information, contact us.
