The 6th Annual Tampa Bay Kids Triathalon takes place this Saturday at Adventure Island.
The Sixth Annual Tampa Bay Kids Triathlon, presented by Florida Blue, will be held at Adventure Island this Saturday, April 14th, 2018 at 7:15 a.m. You can turn this awesome event into something the whole family can get involved with, between volunteering to help run the event or watching your child participate, there's something for everyone! Plus after the race you can spend the day soaking up rays and splashing in the pools at Adventure Island!
The Tampa Bay Kids Triathlon is open to boys and girls of all skills levels ages 6-14. Each racer will be competing in a USAT certified race which includes swimming through Adventure Island Rambling Bayou, a bike around the Busch Gardens property, and a run around the Adventure Island grass parking lot. Each registered racer will receive a gift bag that includes an Under Armour race shirt and a complimentary Adventure Island stay-and-play ticket (only valid on race day), with the option of purchasing up to six additional stay-and-play tickets at a discounted price. Every athlete will also receive a finisher's medal upon completion of the race.
The race is put on by the Event Development Institute, an off-shoot of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission that specializes in bringing athletic-based events to the city.
Following the event, entertainment, snacks and beverages will be provided to the racers and their families.Trophies and awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each of the five different age groups. Proceeds from the race benefit Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance, an organization dedicated to research leading to treatments and a cure for Friedreich's Ataxia.
