Silks Poker Room, located at Tampa Bay Downs, is bringing the PPC Poker Tour to Tampa again, with a host of events starting next week. If you aren’t familiar with Silks, it is a wonderful poker playing establishment, with daily poker events from Texas Hold’em to Omaha to Stud. Their daily tournaments are always a blast, and with simulcast racing broadcast year-round, it’s as much fun as is legal to have.
The PPC tour, founded in 2011, is coming back to Tampa Bay for its second year. Things started to heat up on the 19th with a satellite tournament for those who didn’t want to pony up the $320 for the main event. There is a NLHE (No-Limit Texas Hold’em) tournament with a $5,000 payout today on the 21st, a PLO (Pot-Limit Omaha) tournament that pays out $10,000 on the 23rd and a seniors only NLHE tournament with a $5,000 payout on the 24th, just to name a few!
All of these great tournaments are just a lead in to the main event. A NLHE tournament on the 25th-27th with a guaranteed $50,000 payout! There is a $320 buy in unless you ended up with a cheap seat from one of the satellite tournaments, but it’s well worth the price. There are FOUR different flights for day 1 of the tourney and play will culminate on Sunday the 27th.
The payouts from the tournaments aren’t just cash though, 20% of prize pools are actually paid off in entry and travel to the PPC Aruba World Championship. So think about this for a moment, you could pay as little as $70 for entry into one of the satellite tournaments, win a massive cash prize and then get free entry/travel to the World Championship where there is an additional $250,000 prize pool! There are satellite tourneys on the 19th, 22nd and 24th, see you there!
