There’s nothing like a great game of Florida football, but, let’s be honest here, sometimes it has its drawbacks; brutal heat, shirt-soaking humidity, $25 parking, even more expensive tickets, it adds up. Plus, games can be long and tedious with spans of absolute non-scoring boringness for minutes on end.
Tampa Bay Storm arena football might not be a complete solution, but man, its close. Played indoors at the St. Pete Times Forum, Storm football is a fast-paced and adrenaline packed version of your standard game of football. The field’s chopped in half (50 yards end zone to end zone), the action is practically doubled because of it, and it’s all played in the comfortable, climate-controlled St. Pete Times Forum. Not only can you get your football fix in the NFL off-season, but you can do it comfortably, with more action, and best of all, affordability in mind.
Tickets to a single Storm game run as low as 10 dollars with great, low-level seats priced under the 50 dollar mark. For an all-out, indulgent experience, you can opt for “all you can eat” tickets starting at $52.75. These include unlimited hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, beer, wine, and soda with your ticket.
Broke college kids, the Storm have you covered too. Local students can opt for Student Rush tickets as low as $5 for general admission, $10 for lower-level end zone tickets, and $20 for lower level sideline tickets. That’s enough to save you some beer money to spend during the game, or before or after at one of the many Channelside restaurants or nightlife venues right next door.
If you’ve never been, ask someone how exciting a Storm game is. It might not be the big leagues, but these guys play with speed and force you can only find in a league like this. The Storm season lasts until late July, so you’ve got some time to plan a football-filled evening at the Forum. It’s a unique, affordable, and most of all, fun experience watching our Tampa Bay Storm. Get out there and root for the home team! They’ll certainly appreciate it.
