Located on the southern end of Tampa's beautiful Davis Islands, the Davis Island Yacht Club is a premier, private gathering spot for some of Tampa's biggest sailing enthusiasts and a great place to witness some of the best weekly sailboat races in the area.
Davis Island Yacht Club is a private, member-owned yacht club with principal purpose to "promote sailing in all its forms, form a social nucleus with activities for people primarily interested in sailing, develop and maintain active relationships with other sailing organizations, promote racing and cruising for pure enjoyment, promote safety on the water-ways, and foster a spirit of good fellowship and helpfulness," according to their website.
While, anyone can become a member (with sponsorship from two Regular or Life members), Davis Island Yacht Club plays host to a handful of public events that are open to everyone and free of charge. Their most popular event, the Thursday Night Races attract attendees young and old can watch some of the club's best boats race through the water.
