Just in time for the summer, a new ice cream shop has opened its doors in the Brandon area and, by the looks of it, this new Revolution Ice Cream Co. could easily become an instant hit in Brandon and beyond.
It almost is already, though. Owned by Bill Workman and his wife Leslee, the Revolution Ice Cream Company began with a small, Cuisinart ice cream maker in the Workman's kitchen where Bill would craft small, unique, batches for friends and family.
Before long, the Workman's realized there was no place crafting uniquely-flavored ice cream like the up to 250 pints a month he was making at home. This is where the idea started.
Sitting in the Brandon Retail and Office Center, 220 W. Brandon Blvd., the Revolution Ice Cream Co. store is now a reality as the small shop has been dolling out its unique flavors in record-breaking numbers for a little over a week now.
So, what are these flavors? For lovers of salty/sweet combinations and delicious bacon, there's the Porky's Delight with vanilla bean ice cream, bacon bits, and bacon brittle on top. Their Chocolate Habanero ice cream looks like something deliciously dangerous. And, their roasted strawberry, which seems all-too-perfect on a hot summer day.
Revolution Ice Cream Co. is open from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays. They plan to hold an official grand opening for the public on Sunday, April 14 with ice cream specials, bounce houses, food samples from local restaurants, and more.
