Call us easy to please or maybe a little simple-minded, but nothing hits the spot quite like a hefty burger and a tall pint to wash it down. Naturally, a place called Brewburgers would be an ideal destination to satisfy these cravings, but how ideal is it we wondered before traveling to this Westshore burger joint on this week's stop on our Taste Tour of 813?
As I write with this with a full stomach and a naggingly wonderful urge to nap this burger-y feast off, it's easy to attest; Brewburgers is a prime place to be for quality burgers, an eclectic selection of big name and craft beers, great drinks, and more.
Brewburgers sits in a small, but homey spot just off Westshore Boulevard in Tampa. There's an expansive, covered patio matched by a cozy interior that makes for a nice, and seemingly never uncomfortably crowded spot for drinking, chowing down, and watching the big game on one of the many TVs throughout.
When it comes to the food, Brewburgers offers a hearty assortment of always-dependable bar food including wings, signature burgers, creative appetizers, and more.
Appetizers like fried green tomatoes come out piping hot with a deep golden crunch around the outside made all the more delectable by a nuanced, spicy roumelade I had to stop myself from spreading over everything edible in site.
Their signature Brewburger keeps the flavor train rolling with a well-seasoned six-ounce patty bolstered by melty american cheese atop sauteed mushrooms and red peppers and all squeezed between two pillowy egg bread buns. It's easy to tell whoever's behind the flat top at Brewburgers definitely knows their way around one of these things and, for 8 bucks with fries, it's hard to find much to complain about.
The sleeper hit at Brewburgers may just be their wings with a delightfully spicy and complex rub of what they call "Mardi Gras" seasoning lining each of these little things. They're big, they're crunchy, and a welcome departure from the typical mild-medium-hot assortment of wings found elsewhere.
All in all, Brewburgers takes a solid concept and adds enough signature touches to make it a very welcome addition to the burgeoning Westshore dining scene. Check 'em out, see if you agree, then give them your own rating and review on the Brewburgers 813area Business Listing.
