We had the pleasure of dining at Rome + Fig Global Bistro and color us impressed! Reading through their website I felt that we were in for a special meal and dining experience and I could not have been more right.
Nestled in the heart of Tampa’s North Hyde Park, the restaurant values the art of personal connection. The people here care and it shows. The husband-and-wife duo Eric and Kristine have accomplished their goal of creating a warm and inviting dining experience. It's a must-visit restaurant in Tampa.
The menu is focused and each dish delivers in spades.
Tomato Salad
heirloom tomatoes, truffle burrata cheese, micro basil, arugula, citrus oil, balsamic drizzle, truffle salt
Tuna Tartare
apples, scallions, ginger vinaigrette, wonton crisps, avocado, sesame seeds
Roasted Parsnip + White Bean Soup
candied pepitas, smokey bacon
Pan-Seared Scallops
Israeli couscous, spinach, cremini mushrooms, champagne lemon butter
Here is an interesting twist for all of us carnivores. Choose your own knife!
Per their website - Chef Rob’s favorite part of cooking is getting people to try something they may not have thought they liked and making them love it! He promises to make you a believer! At Kristine’s suggestion, we went out of our comfort zone and ordered the lamb entrée. Consider us a believer in their lamb.
Lamb Chops + Loin
creamy pearl barley, heirloom carrots, port wine demi-glace
Desserts shine as bright at Rome + Fig as the appetizers and entrees so be sure to save room.
Chocolate Bread Pudding
vanilla anglaise, whipped cream
The outdoor patio beckons for our next visit where I know when we ask “what’s good” we will be sure to take their suggestions and expand our taste horizons.
