Welcome to Meatless Mondays! Down the buzzing street of Fletcher, in between tanning salons and tacos, is a cozy and cool tea lounge just waiting for you. Kaleisia Tea Lounge is known mostly for its wall of teas served up in classic mason ball jars, but tucked away on their menu is a list of delicious veggie and even vegan friendly options, perfect for a Meatless Monday.
While the meanu options at first may seem small, Kaleisia Tea Lounge's flavors pack a punch and are well worth the trip!
Step one? Pick a tea. From Long Island Strawberry Green Tea to Berry Sorbet White Tea, there is a taste for everyone. You can get it served hot or gold, in sizes regular to largest like the "teatanic".
Step two? Pick something to bite. You can purchase entrees for about $5.00, but to get the real deal, you can pick from one of their "sets" at the bottom of the menu. These include a regular tea, a side of veggie sticks, two spring rolls, your entree and a dessert for $12. Menu items range from a pumpkin coconut soup to asian noodles.
Step three? Enjoy. You can sit in the mediation room (no shoes allowed) where yoga classes are often held before the joint officially opens, or you could sit on the patio with a high fence to block out the view of Fletcher Avenue. It is pet-friendly, too. But, for cozy seating, sit inside at one of the various tables. There are board games available, but most visitors come to study, making the environment calm and most importantly, relaxing. Did we mention there is free Wifi?
Our Meatless Pick? Set C, it comes with the Vegginini, the veggie panini. A fairly straightforward sandwich, with spinach and tomato, pressed on warm bread. Match this with a dessert of your choice; we picked the buttercream cupcake (and it's vegan!), and you've got a full meal for a budget-friendly $12.
Honorable Mention: Asian Noodles. With a spicy sauce and soy on the side, these noodles with red pepper, mint and tofu are sure to satisfy.
We hope you enjoy your Meatless Monday!
