You’ve been partying and fast food, Village Inn pie or a Grand Slam at Denny’s isn’t going to satate your inner tiger. Choices for Late night dining in Tampa are still slim pickings, but here are some of our favorite places to eat after 10 p.m. grazing stations.
Ceviche: So civilized, the Spanish, with their late night hot and cold tapas washed down with white or red Sangria pitchers, everyone in their little LBD and checking out the competition. Grilled shrimp, asparagus, olives, manchego cheese, garlic potatos and so much more.
The Deck Pizza and Pub: Open till 3 a.m. Fri.-Sat., you can soak up the spirits with garlicy cheese bread, chicken Jack cheese quesadillas, Philly cheesesteak or meatball subs, calzones, stromboli and some of the best pizza in Tampa Bay by the slice or pie, especially the white pizza or barbecue chicken. Egg Platter: A dive, but open 24 hours and slinging comfort food hash, large platters and sassy remarks you can take to the bank.
Walter’s Press Box Sports Emporium: Five big screens (23 total tvs) and a great celebrity spotting local bar and “real guys don’t eat quiche” eatery, serving appetizers, burgers, hoagies, sandwiches wraps and wings after 11, and steak and pizzas until then. Just order a bunch of starters and share the love, especially the nachos supreme, homemade fried potato chips slathered in melted cheese, mozzarella cheese sticks, hearty chili, stuffed poppers, blackened shrimp, French onion soup, grouper strips, onion rings and fried mushroom. Leave the veggie burger and chicken Caesar wrap for the non-beer drinking buddies.
