Entries are now being accepted for the first round of the BGR National Cheeseburger Slider Eating Championships taking place at BGR: The Burger Joint in North Tampa.
The competition will take place on National Cheeseburger day, Tuesday, September 18. Whoever wins first will get a prize of $500 and a trip to Washington, D.C. for the finals on National Hamburger Day next year (Tuesday, May 28th, 2012).
This inaugural contest will pit burger enthusiasts against each other in a competition to consume as many cheeseburger sliders as possible within 10 minutes. Sliders will be served with a slice of cheddar cheese on a potato roll. The winner of the event will get an all-expense paid trip to compete against four regional champions in the National Championship. The second prize winner will win a $250 giftcard to BGR and the third prize winner will receive a $100 giftcard to BGR.
Interested participants should e-mail contest@bgrtampa.com with their name, age, address, and why they want to be in the contest. The competition will kick off at 12:00 pm at BGR: The Burger Joint in North Tampa located at 12913 N. Dale Mabry Highway.
Even if you don't want to compete, BGR will host a great celebration surrounding competition featuring menu samples and more.
