The Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Tampa announced a $700 million expansion plan, with an opening projected to occur in mid-2019 in North Tampa.
A new 15-story hotel tower with 564 rooms and suites and a private penthouse gaming parlor, 200,000 square feet of gaming space for 5,000 slot machines and 200 gaming tables, three new “ultra-lavish” pools, a 120-seat Pool Grille restaurant and bar, and a 25,000 square foot salon and spa are on deck for Tampa's only full-service gambling establishment, and one of the largest casinos in the world.
This project is part of a $2.4 billion economic investment by the Seminole Tribe in Florida; in Hollywood, Florida the other Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino complex is also undergoing a large expansion.

A "major expansion of the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa is further evidence of the Seminole Tribe’s commitment to the people of Florida that it will continue to increase the economic impact of its Seminole Gaming facilities," said Jim Allen, CEO of Seminole Gaming.
An estimated 2,000 construction workers will be employed to build this development, along with another 1,000 full and part-time staff for other positions during construction. Thousands of permanent jobs will be up for grabs upon opening, as one of the largest employers in Hillsborough County grows even bigger.

With recent additions such as The Rez Grill and an additional gaming level on the second floor near the valet, the continued expansion shows that Tampa and her tourists are capable of supporting one of the largest casino resorts in the world.
