Tampa has always been based on the water around us. Port Tampa Bay has been a large part of the history and economy of our area, bringing everything from cheaper gas prices to providing thousands of jobs. A cultural shift has happened to take full advantage of the water winding through the city to transform from an industrial waterfront to a place for people to live, work and play. There was the 40-year effort to create the Tampa Riverwalk and the more recent efforts of Sparkman Wharf to tear down old walls and be open to the water.
With that focus, and the events and happenings, why not live close to the water as well! Here are some of the best places to live on the water in Tampa and what you can expect in each area!
