Good news for the Tampa jobs market. Earlier today, Time Warner reassured its earlier claims that the company will put 500 jobs in Tampa by the year 2016.
The average salary of all these Time Warner jobs will be $57,200 according to the company. This news comes after the company decided to expand into the Tampa Bay area back in September of 2011. Currently, Time Warner has hired 73 employees (70 of them from right here in Tampa) to work in their new facilities located at the Lakepointe Two building, part of the Tampa Bay Park located just north of Raymond James Stadium.
Time Warner plans to make this facility into a one stop payroll and human resources center for the entire corporation. This new Tampa location will play home to a cutting-edge, cloud-based HR system called Workday which will handle myriad H.R.-related issues for Time Warner.
Time Warner officials claim that this new consolidation of their payroll and human resources divisions will allow their other divisions throughout the country to better focus on creating "great entertainment content" according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Time Warner ranks 142nd on the Fortune 500 list of largest U.S. companies with about $20 billion in annual revenues and 33,000 employees. They own everything from the Warner Brothers movie studio which produced the recently holiday season movies The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and Argo to world news giant CNN and premium cable channel HBO.
