Financial services powerhouse, Morgan Stanley plans to bring $6.6 million in capital investment and place 110 new jobs in Tampa, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
Morgan Stanley's existing, 25,294-square-foot space at the Intellicenter at Telecom Park in North Tampa will get a number of enhancements to accomodate for their growth. They're expected to move in sometime in March with the new hires and existing employees working in this central space.
The North Tampa area beat out prospective locations in Utah and Ohio for the project. But, Morgan Stanley's motives are hardly random or out of the blue. By moving to Tampa, the company will likely receive a $550,000 incentive from the state and local governments.
Florida's Qualified Target Industry Tax Refund program calls for the state to pay $440,000 and Hillsborough County and Temple Terrace to each to provide $55,000 if all of Morgan Stanley's promised jobs are created at the wages they say over the next six years.
