New York-based post-trade financial services corporation, Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. recently announced their plans for a $4.8 million expansion and investment that will create over 250 jobs in Tampa, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
The corporation plans to create 255 Tampa jobs in specialized sectors including information technology, operations, human resources and finance with a phased hiring schedule expected to span a three-year period, the Journal reports.
The expansion, though, is not Depository Trust & Clearing's first in Tampa. They first touched down in the area with a New Tampa office facility nine years ago. This new, second expansion will be added to their pre-existing facility.
“The decision to expand our operations in Tampa signals our continuing commitment to this community and represents a new chapter in DTCC history,” said Michael Bodson, president and CEO, in a written statement.
Even if relatively small, this is a marked improvement when it comes to the availability of jobs in Tampa and all the more enforced by a number of big name companies including Morgan Stanley, Vology, Bass Pro Shops, and more that have announced new hiring efforts in Tampa within the past year.
We'll keep you posted as more news arises regarding the expansion of Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. and jobs in Tampa.
