If the massive tidying up and myriad plans being released day by day now weren't enough to show you that the Republican National Convention will be here in Tampa very soon, this just might.
Someone representing the GOP (Grand Old Party) has booked all of the 250 hotel rooms at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino for the week of the RNC fast approaching on August 27.
This is a little peculiar since the Hard Rock was not on the list of official hotels for Republican National Convention delegates an other important figures.
Either way, The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is fresh off the heels of a new $75 million, 32,000 square foot expansion featuring more slots, a restaurant, and table games, so someone's bound to have a little fun during this week.
The booking, at this point in time, still remains unofficial, but if followed through with, the GOP could rack up a tab of at least $161,250 for this week-long stay at the Hard Rock according to the Tampa Tribune.
Citing guest privacy, the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will not divulge who made the booking or their exact reasoning for doing so, but the Tribune speculates that these rooms may be set aside for high level donors who aren't necessarily delegates.
So what about the guests who already had arrangements at the Hard Rock Hotel during that week? Well, if the GOP follows through and lays down a significant deposit, the Hard Rock has arrangements with nearby hotels in case of overflow bookings. The Hard Rock can arrange accommodations at these places for guests who planned to stay at the famous hotel during the week of the 2012 Republican National Convention, but now may be pushed out by the GOP bookings.
