"We know that the stress of building can take a toll mentally and physically, impacting the ability to lead and grow your startup. But through taking care of your mind and body, you can create balance and maximize performance. And as a community, we're here to help," said Tyana Daley, Communications Manager at Embarc Collective of Tampa Bay.

On Thursday, October 17, Embarc Collective teamed up with Peerfit to host a workout class and networking happy hour at Sparkman Wharf for their Happy Mind, Happy Grind event.

The circuit-style workout class and guided meditation were led by different Tampa Bay fitness studios, including The Bar Method, The Athletic Studio, Epic Boxing and CAMP. This event recognized Mental Health Awareness Week and the way physical fitness positively impacts mental health.

Over 30 people were in attendance, and each completed a full circuit workout followed by a happy hour, all at Sparkman Wharf.

Mental Health Awareness Week is a way for communities across the United States to raise awareness about mental health. During the first week of October, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and participating businesses and communities came together to fight mental health stigma, educate the public and provide support.
