Major Beauty Trends of 2019
Eyelash Extensions
Instead of gluing false eyelashes on every day or on special occasions, some women are now getting professional eyelash extensions. A salon specialist applies the extensions directly to the lashes, and they stay on for at least two weeks at a time before needing a fill.
You can swim, shower, and go through your daily life without having to perfect your lashes with mascara every morning. Many women are getting eyelash extensions to shorten their daily makeup routine.
For a quick, simple look, just apply CC cream, blush or bronzer, and your favorite lip product. Your eyes won't need definition with your fierce and fluttery eyelash extensions!
Some of our favorite eyelash extension salons in Tampa are Milly on Lashes, Luxe Day Spa, and Blush Rock Eyelash Extensions.

Microblading: Eyebrows
Having perfect eyebrows has become an important part of many people's makeup routine, including my own. If you weren't blessed with full, arched brows and want the look, though, mapping and drawing them everyday is not only challenging but time-consuming as well.
Fortunately, there's another fantastic way to shorten our beauty routine: microblading! This type of temporary tattoo is so satisfying because, when you go to the right place for microblading, your eyebrows will look amazing without any effort at all. Watch this video to see what microblading is all about:
If you’re looking to have your eyebrows microbladed in Tampa, we suggest these salons for the best outcome: Ravish Brows, Barbers International, Luxe Day Spa, and Microblade Tampa!
Balayage: Hair
Nothing makes me feel like a new person more than changing up my hairstyle or color. We all know when girls go through a breakup or major life change, they get excited to switch up their look, and, in 2019, the newest style is the balayage.
Balayage is a technique for highlighting hair in which the dye is painted on to create a natural-looking gradient effect. This style and hair-dyeing process gives your hair dimension and the look of added volume because of the way the colors are painted in your hair. Check out these beautiful balayages:
If you’re looking to switch up your hair color in Tampa, I’ve always had great luck with Level Salon in Hyde Park Village!
Morphe Cosmetics
All makeup junkies know about Morphe Cosmetics by now, but what made them so popular in 2019? Not only do they have some of the most reasonably-priced cosmetics and beauty supplies on the market, but they also teamed up with beauty influencers to introduce and promote the brand to the masses.

This year alone, Morphe has collaborated on products with major Youtube beauty gurus including Jaclyn Hill, James Charles, and Jeffree Star. I own two Morphe eyeshadow palettes, and I can say that their shadows are super-pigmented and bright.
What keeps me coming back for more are their reasonable prices and good-quality items. I mean, seriously, what’s not to love about that!? Check out their full selection at International Plaza!

Size Doesn’t Matter Anymore! It’s Appreciated!
Last week, Rihanna featured a plus-sized mannequin in her Fenty pop-up shop in New York City, and the world went crazy (in the good way). Rihanna was praised for showing that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and that no matter what shape or size you are, you should be proud!
Other celebrities that have come forth with the same message in 2019 include Bebe Rexha, Lizzo, and Ashley Graham. Stay tuned in the rest of 2019 for major changes in the fashion industry that accommodate all different shapes and sizes.
Major Health Trends in 2019
Fad Diets
This year, we’ve seen a huge rise in fad diets. From Instagram to Facebook and Twitter, there are talks about crazy new diets that celebrities and influencers are trying and succeeding with. But are they really healthy?
Keto Diet
The Keto Diet, also known as the Ketogenic Diet, is a low-carb diet where you get most of your calories from protein and fat and less from carbohydrates. The idea is to take in less than 50/g of carbohydrates a day so that your body starts to gain energy from fat and protein, which helps dieters lose weight. When researching the diet, I noticed that all of my sources suggested speaking to your doctor before beginning this diet because Keto is not so much a health-based diet but more of a weight-loss diet.
Paleo Diet
A paleo diet is based on foods similar to what might have been eaten during the Paleolithic Era 10,000 to 2.5 million years ago. That means if the food is at all manufactured, it can't be eaten. The diet includes lean meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and all other foods that were be obtained by hunting and gathering in the past. Many are looking to go back to a time where humans ate only what the earth naturally gave them. Before farming, that's how everyone ate! Farming added dairy, grains, and legumes to our everyday diets, which increased the prevalence of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. If you have any history of those conditions in your family, you may want to look into the Paleo Diet.
Impossible Foods: Plant-Based Meat
Being vegetarian has never been easier with the recent trend of Impossible Burgers, plant-based burgers that have taken over vegetarian menus everywhere. The burgers even bleed, smell, and taste a lot like meat!
Impossible Foods is geared towards those vegetarians who have changed their diet for the environment as the company's mission is to reduce the land, water, and emissions that are used for the meat industry. Buzzfeed had some of its foodie experts try the Impossible Burger. Check out what they thought below!
Self-Acceptance
In 2019, there has been a surge in self-acceptance. Knowing who you are and how to accept yourself can be difficult, but it all starts with self-care and acknowledgment of the characteristics that make you, YOU!
Many people are learning to balance taking care of those around you and taking care of yourself so you can get to know yourself on better terms. For some of us, that means sitting on the couch for an hour at the end of each day, doing a face mask, and relaxing in your own thoughts. For others, that means taking a day off once a month where we throw our cell phones to the side and ignore our obligations for a day to spend quality time with ourselves.
Once you get to know yourself a little better, it’s easier to accept yourself and be who you are without feeling the need to apologize for just being you! Remember that you're number-one, and make sure to care for yourself from time to time so you can build confidence.
CBD Everything
Unconventional health hacks are now more understood and accepted like the use of CBD oils. CBD is the non-psychoactive compound of hemp that can help with anxiety, depression, stress, inflammation, epilepsy, and many other diagnoses that affect our day-to-day lives.
CBD comes in many forms from topical and ingestible products, creams and salves, sprays and balms, chocolates, capsules, tinctures, and oils. And, if you haven't noticed, CBD can be found everywhere.
Kim Kardashian had a CBD oil baby shower and uses the product to remain calm under stress. She's not the only celebrity to support CBD use- Jennifer Aniston, Emma Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Kristen Bell are also among famous supporters. Try it out for yourself!
