Description

Located along the shores of Tampa Bay, E. G. Simmons Park boasts some of the best views in the area. It is most known for the picnic areas and campgrounds with a total of 87 individual camp sites. You can enjoy the beach for relaxation or bird watching in the shallow waters along with many other activities. The park also offers boat ramps, canoe rentals, fishing, hiking and a playground. Dogs are permitted in the park, however, they are not allowed in the beach area. Entry fees are $2 per vehicle of up to eight people.

EG Simmons Park is one of the gems of the SouthShore area where you can enjoy a day outdoors on the water.

Pros: Clean park and easy access.

Cons: Information about when they are open/closed is not easily found so I've gone a few times when they were closed.
