Job Description: COOK Department: Back of the House
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Arrives to work on time, neat and clean for every shift, in a clean and proper uniform.
? Demonstrates helpful, positive CAN DO attitude at all times to Guest, Team Members, and Managers.
? Follows SHELLS specs and operating procedures.
Adheres to SHELLS Safety and Sanitation Procedures
? Practices safe food handling according to SHELLS HACCP procedures.
? Monitors product to maintain safe temperatures for cold and hot food.
? Properly uses and stores cleaning chemicals.
? Sanitizes utensils, cutting boards, scales, work counter and sinks after each use.
? Prepares sanitizer solution bucket for the station.
? Washes hands frequently and after sneezing, coughing and using the restroom.
? Wears gloves to handle product.
? Follows SHELLS guidelines for product rotation and monitors expiration dates to ensure quality.
During Shift:
? Cooks fish, chicken, steaks and seafood items according to recipes.
? Places items on proper plates and adds sauces/garnish per recipe.
? Maintains clean work area. Keeps floor clean and dry at all times using a designated broom and dry mop.
? Records food mistakes/discarded products on a Waste Log.
Closing
? Rotates all food and sets aside those food items with a “use by” that has expired. Shows to closing manager,
logs waste, and discards.
? Scrubs the equipment legs, wheels, bottom, rear, and sides. Cleans the refrigerated drawers, parts and interior
space.
? Cleans, sweeps and mops assigned area of kitchen.
? Dumps trash from kitchen into dumpster.
? Helps Dishwasher with cleaning pots at end of shift to remove labels and burned on debris.
? Follows Daily and Weekly sidework charts.
? Checks out with a Manager at end of a shift and performs additional duties as assigned.
Weekly
? Follow the cleaning chart to detail grill parts and equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
Age: Minimum 17 years of age or older
Education: High School or GED equivalent preferred..
Experience: Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements of this position include:
Standing, bending, lifting/carrying items (up to 50 pounds). Oral and written communication skills in English.
Position requires eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, exposure to heat (100?F) and cold (0?F), proximity to
microwave ovens, sharp objects and chemicals/cleaning products.

Pay: $10.00 - $16.00 per hour
