Well, this is pretty cool. If you're a fan of biking in Tampa and/or dining at the plethora of awesome restaurants in Downtown Tampa, you owe it to yourself to check out the Urban Restaurant Tour presented by City Bike Tampa.
Bike through Downtown Tampa as you make pit stops to sample the fare at notable eateries around town including the Sono Cafe, Jackson Street Bistro, TinaTapa's at Channelside, The Metro Restaurant and Lounge, and the Tampa Theatre.
An event like this with food from five different restaurants has to be a bit pricey, right? Well, you'd think, but the Urban Restaurant Tour will only cost you $10. No catch, no exorbitant service charge, just $10 bucks (and tax) for a ton of great food and two-wheeled exercise with your Tampa neighbors.
Space is limited to 100 people for the tour. Luckily, City Bike Tampa hooked it up and scheduled two dates for this thing; Tuesday, July 19 and Thursday, July 28. Both begin at 5:40 p.m. at kick off at the Sono Cafe for a panini and gelato tasting.
After that, the group will head to the Jackson Street Bistro from 6:35 to 7:25 p.m. where you'll be able to sample items like turkey and Italian sandwiches, mufalata, and house made hummus and pita chips.
The next stop is TinaTapa's at Channelside from 7:40 to 8:30 with an array of Spanish style tapas (small plates) ready for the tasting.
After that, pedal on over to The Metro Restaurant and Lounge from 8:45 to 9:35 p.m. where shrimp ceviche, prime rib and tuna apple melts, and chocolate chip cheesecake with black raspberry liquor ganache will be waiting for you and your taste buds to enjoy.
You'll probably be blissfully full of all this delectable cuisine at this point which is where the biking will really come in handy. Sprint to the finish and burn off those calories as you trek to the Tampa Theatre where $250 in raffle prizes, mini theater tours, and popcorn will be available from 9:40 to 10:30 p.m.
