On Thursday, November 29th, the Tampa Downtown Partnership is hosting the Urban Excellence Awards at Armature Works from 6–9 p.m. The Partnership works to promote Downtown businesses and plays a key role in creating a 24-hour urban center where people can learn, live, work and play. They are the official advocates for residents, workers and visitors to downtown, and work to encourage Downtown’s physical and economic development.
Cocktails and Dinner
To recognize and celebrate the people and businesses who participate in this hard work, the Tampa Downtown Partnership hosts the Urban Excellence Awards to commemorate the businesses, programs, people and projects that have a lasting and positive impact on the revitalization of Downtown. The event will consist of an hour of registration and cocktails from 6 – 7 p.m. and the awards program and dinner from 7 – 9 p.m.
Award Categories
The award categories include the Public Sector Project Award, Private Sector Award, Downtown Collaboration Award, Landmark Development Project Award, Downtown Experience Award, Activating Spaces Award, Marketplace Award, Arts & Culture Award, People’s Choice Award and the Christine Burdick Leadership Award.

Each year an awards jury representing a cross-section of downtown constituencies selects award winners who have made significant contributions that have made a lasting and positive impact on Downtown. Awardees are honored for their leadership, innovation, hard work, talent, and community spirit.
