By now, UFC and mixed martial arts might as well be on the same level as the major American sports leagues like Major League Baseball and the National Football League. With its rampant popularity, UFC matches can be major events that local businesses all across Tampa Bay will broadcast and, better yet, pay for so you can enjoy in the comfort of their respective establishments.
This Saturday, June 23, the UFC will broadcast live from Belo Horizonte, Brazil for UFC 147. The broadcast will feature a headline match between Wanderlei Silva and Rick Franklin who will meet for a second time in a 190 lb. catchweight match.
UFC fans will remember the last time Silva and Franklin faced off in the octagon during UFC 99 where Franklin defeated Silva with a unanimous decision in a bout deemed Fight of the Night. Will Silva pull the magic he needs to win over Franklin or will history, like it often does, repeat itself? We'll just have to wait until Saturday and see.
Speaking of seeing, you can watch the match and enjoy the fun environment of The Rack in Hyde Park before, during, and after the match which they'll broadcast live throughout the restaurant. The Rack will also host their usual Saturday night special, Beat the Clock. Drink prices decrease in increments beginning at 7 p.m. until they're dirt cheap by the time night really falls. Hurry, though, prices go back to normal at 1 a.m!
