Welcome to one of the best weeks of the year in Tampa Bay!
This is Tampa Bay Beer Week 2018, the event that began in 2012 and has since grown into one of the biggest and best beer events not only in Tampa Bay, but anywhere in America. Craft breweries and beer lovers in Tampa come together to celebrate, throw parties, put on festivals and more. Tampa Bay Beer Week celebrates the growing and evolving beer culture in Tampa Bay, and this year it's brought to you by Armature Works.
Tampa Bay Beer Week 2018 officially kicks off Friday, March 2 and has events all the way through Saturday, March 11. Take a look at our guide to the best TBBW events, and let us know in the comments what events you're going to attend. There are over 750 events on both sides of the bay to choose from, guaranteeing this year's Tampa Bay Beer Week to be wildly fun!
Friday, March 2
There are several fun events on March 2nd to kick off this year's bash!
Coppertail Brewing Co. will be releasing their Double IPA, Brew's Banner 4-pack bottles available in the tasting room. The flagship brew of Coppertail during Tampa Bay Beer Week will go on sale when they open and be available all week to celebrate.
Pair O' Dice Brewing will be celebrating Tampa Bay Beer Week 2018 and the Strawberry Festival opening by offering their Lucky Lucy Strawberry Beer tap takeover including variations of Strawberry combinations with Kiwi, Basil, Limeade, Coconut, jalapeno and more!
Jug & Bottle Dept. will be host to Maeloc Farmhouse Ciders for an afternoon of Tampa Bay Beer Week fun. A full line of ciders on draft and in bottles will be available for sampling including free giveaways from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Pour House and 7venth Sun Brewing will team up once again to bring you over 40 beers from 7venth Sun Brewing and other local craft breweries in Tampa at 7:00 p.m.
Lowry Parcade & Tavern will lay host to Red Cypress Brewery who will soon be distributing in Tampa. Come challenge their brewmasters in games and win swag with four new beers on tap.
Saint Somewhere Brewing Company opens Tampa Bay Beer Week with an opening night bottle share! $10 plus gets you admission, a glass to keep, and one full pour of Saint Somewhere in the brasserie starting at 6:30 p.m.
Join us for The Ultimate Brewer 3 on Friday, March 2 for the official kickoff to Tampa Bay Beer Week 2018 hosted at Brew Bus Brewing! Craft breweries from around Tampa Bay will take part of this challenge which is sure to be a treat. Each participating brewery had a blind draw for one of 30 ingredients or ingredient combinations to create a signature beer with. Since then, these craft breweries had to concoct a beer that includes their given ingredient, to be presented and blind tested on Friday, March 2nd. Winner gets their name etched into a trophy for all time and the pleasure of brewing the signature beer for Tampa Bay Beer Week 2019! Last year's winner was host Brew Bus Brewing, can they defend the title? Join the party for a taste test event, plenty of food trucks and lots of laughs. Entry is just $25!
Saturday, March 3
Get up bright and early, because World of Beer is hosting their 5th Annual 5K run at 8 a.m.! The revenue goes to the Westchase Charitable Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports families who are battling serious illness or other sorts of crises. Make your TBBW count this year and give back via the World of Beer 5th Annual 5k!
From 2 to 5 p.m. at Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park, the Florida Brewers Guild will host their annual Florida Brewers Guild Craft Beer Festival 2018. Sample 200 beers from over 60 local breweries, all while raising money for the Florida Brewers Guild, a nonprofit trade association that protects the rights of craft brewers throughout Florida. Festival-goers will receive free samples and a commemorative tasting glass. Tickets range from $45 for general admission to $65 for VIP.
From 3 p.m. until close Lowry Parcade & Tavern will invite several local artists to display their work, with prints and other art to sell. There will also be a public mural to let loose your creativity and imagination before or after a few brews! Come support local artists and be apart of it.
Coppertail Brewing Co. continues TBBW with a Late Start Brewery tap takeover. One of Tampa's up and coming breweries soon to be located in Channelside will offer up some beers from 6 - 11 p.m.
The Independent Bar and Cafe joins the fun in conjunction with their First Saturday Jazz Series featuring Nate Najar Trio. Entertainment is from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Hidden Springs Ale Works will throw caution to the wind on Saturday with their first official MEGA DROP. The brewery will be releasing cans and bottles of seven different beers starting at 11 a.m.
Sunday, March 4
At 11:00 a.m. join Walking Tree Brewery at The Brass Tap - Wesley Chapel for a beer and brunch flight event. $25 + tax and ticket fee includes a flight of Walking Tree beers and a flight of brunch pairings from Union 72. Tickets are limited so order in advance!
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Coppertail Brewing Co. hosts Aardwolf Brewing Company from Jacksonville for a tap takeover brunch. Aardwolf's beer will be featured on all 6 taps in the loft space.
Hang out with 81Bay Brewing Company for a hangover brunch featuring bottomless mimosas for $15 from 12 - 4 p.m. and live music with Tim Russel at 3 p.m. Menu items include Chicken & Waffles Biscuits & Sausage gravy, Smoked Salmon, Spinach Salad, Filet Mignon, Egg Sandwiches and more!
The marquee event of the day, the Brewer's Ball 2018 at Water Works Park will be from 12 - 4:30 p.m. with ticket prices at $75. The festival features over 100 of Florida's Best Beers on tap with an afternoon of live music, awards and fun. East Coast Catering will be on site to offer food and each ticket includes a food ticket.
After the Brewer's Ball head over to The Independent Bar and Cafe for the 9th Annual Brewers' Ball After Party featuring Poetry 'N Lotion! From 6 - 11 p.m. The Independent will be tapping some rare and unique gems with live music from Poetry N' Lotion! Hamburgers, hotdogs and brats will be grilled to cap off your weekend with a blast!
Don't let the party end after the Brewer's Ball. Head to Hidden Springs Ale Works for the biggest after party you've ever seen where they will be tapping a ton of specialty beers to kick of TBBW!
Monday, March 5
Join Cigar City Brewing on the barrel-aged countdown to Hunahpu's Day with $14.99 bottles of David Humphrey's BA American Barleywine.
The Independent Bar and Cafe will offer featured lunch specials during Tampa Bay Beer Week 2018 for beer and food pairings and also canned beer specials. Daily specials will be available all week.
Crooked Thumb Brewery will host a spotlight happy hour from 5 - 7 p.m. featuring three brands at BJ's Brewhouse in Wesley Chapel.
The Independent in St. Pete will host Total Eclipse of the (7venth) Sun, where all beers on tap will be 7venth Sun Brewing from 6 - 11 p.m.
Coppertail Brewing Co. continues its tap takeover hosting Walking Tree Brewery from Vero Beach! Walking Tree won Best Small Brewery and Best Beer in Florida in 2017.
Join World of Beer in South Tampa for a week-long tri-brewery spotlight, starting on Monday, March 6! Craft beers from Cigar City Brewing, Oskar Blues and Perrin Brewery get tapped on Monday and will be available at World of Beer SoHo all week long.
Estrella Galicia and Coppertail Brewing Co. present: Tower of Tapas at Red Mesa Cantin from March 5th - March 9th. A week-long "Tower of Tapas" that include different beers, ciders, and beer cocktails made with Estrella Galicia, Coppertail Brewing and Maeloc Cider at each bar location.
Tuesday, March 6
Haven and Motorworks Brewing TBBW Crush Hour and Food Pairing celebrating Tampa Bay Beer Week with a fun evening of beer and food pairings with Motorworks Brewing Head Brewer Bob Haa. Haven Executive Chef Chad Johnson will select and prepare the dishes. A reception will begin at 6:00 p.m. on the covered patio and go until 8:00 p.m.
Mastry's Brewing Co and 81Bay Brewing Company offer a collaborative release at Mastry's Brewing from 6 - 10 p.m. This collaboration marks the first known USF St Pete Brewing Arts Alumni release and the USFSP Brewing Arts team will be onsite to represent the school.
Celebrate Tapas Tuesday at SPAIN Restaurant & TOMA Bar with Coppertail Brewing Co. and Estrella Galicia from 7 - 10 p.m. Featuring $4 featured beers and $8 tapas, live music and giveaways will also be held all night long.
Join local brewers at Lowry Parcade & Tavern for the 1st Annual BATTLE ROYALE. Brewmasters will put their skills to the test playing games, sharing beers and challenging each other for the right to take home the Battle Royale Championship Belt.
Wednesday, March 7
81Bay Brewing Company and American Social Tampa invite you to a 4-course feast celebrating Tampa Bay Beer Week. Head brewers Jay Jones and Hayley Brown and chefs from American Social will be in attendance to discuss how each dish is perfectly paired with each locally crafted beer. Tickets are $50 and include four courses, five beers and hors d'oeuvres.
Coppertail Brewing Co. hosts their 2nd Annual Wood Car Race. Purchase a wood car racer-making kit, build your hot rod and enter the race that takes place at 6 p.m. Only 30 cars will be able to participate, but there will be prizes for 1st to 3rd, and guest brewers from Richmond, Virginia will be in attendance on guest tap selections.
Thursday, March 8
Cigar City Brewing brings their Wheel of Death and Coloring Contest to Yard of Ale SoHo. From 7 - 9 p.m. spin the wheel if you dare and you can win a free beer, or have to do a shot of lemon juice. If you can color inside the lines, you can be entered into a drawing to win a pair of Hunahpu's Day 2018 tickets.
Cigar City Brewing and Oskar Blues Beer host the Olympics at Local Draught House in Tampa. Guests can compete in teams of two playing bar games such as beer pong, ping-pong, quarters, basketball, and cornhole. First place includes Gasparilla Music Festival 2018 tickets!
Estrella Galicia presents: SESSIONS at C.1949 Florida Beer Garden. Sessions is a music series featuring classical Spanish guitarists from musician Hector Mayoral. Sample Spanish made craft lagers and farmhouse Sidra from Estrella Galicia and Maeloc Sidras.
Friday, March 9
Green Bench Brewing Company will host their 5th Annual Foeder for Thought event from 6 to 11 p.m. This is a full-out festival, complete with a special bottle release, unlimited samples of craft beer, Q&A sessions with local brewmasters co-hosted by Good Beer Hunting. Get your tickets now at Green Bench Brewing Company for $100 in St. Pete for Foeder for Thought!
Coppertail Brewing Co. will host Half-Pipes with Half Acre and Pipeworks from 6 - 9 p.m. A 16- foot half-pipe will be erected in the lot with the help of Skatepark of Tampa offering a best trick contest, local pros, cash prizes and giveaways. Chicago's Half Acre Beer Company and Pipeworks Brewing Company will be sending 12 kegs of beer to put on tap during the event.
Start the weekend out right with Cigar City Brewing and Oskar Blues as they host a Nerf Gun Competition at The Patio Tampa from 7 - 9 p.m. Shoot Nerf guns at empty beer cans for a chance to win prizes with Gasparilla Music Festival tickets on the line.
After Green Bench's Foeder for Thought head on over the after party at The Independent for a late night palate cleanser. Rarities and oddities will be on tap alongside the best of European classics.
Saturday, March 10
After a long week of celebrating beer, enjoy recovery at Pure Barre St. Petersburg with Cabreiroa Mineral Water and Estrella Galicia. Enjoy some mindfulness, sweat and a reboot as Pure Barre will be raffling five free classes, one case of sparkling water and handing out fun items. Join Pure Barre St. Petersburg from 8:00 a.m. - noon.
Head over to Cigar City Brewing for the celebration of one of the best beers in the world during Hunahpu's Day 2018. This celebration is the only way to get bottles of the highly anticipated annual release, and will be held in Raymond James Stadium Lots 5 and 7. Tickets go fast so hurry up for your chance to take home the critically-acclaimed Imperial Stout.
Regional metal bands will take the stage at Coppertail Brewing Co. from 6 - 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door and will feature some killer guest taps in the tasting room and loft space.
Sunday, March 11
Tampa Bay Beer Week 2018 may be coming to a close, but the party lives on!
Join Mermaid Tavern with a Huna Hangover Brunch, featuring delicious comfort food to help soothe those hangovers from an action-packed beer week.
Coppertail Brewing Co. concludes their tapped out Beer Week with Tampa Bay Beer Week Brunch from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Special food from The Stein and Vine Kitchen at Coppertail Brewing Co. and a Tampa Bay Beer Week menu will be offered to wind down on an eventful week.
Flying Boat Brewing Co. will hist a lazy brunch in St. Pete from 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Out of The Pot will provide the brunch and a new beer will be released for the event, a Mango-Habenero Pale Ale. Peruse through the Second Sunday Art Show while sipping on beer mimosas.
