The 2nd Annual Summer of Rum Festival is taking place this Saturday at the Cuban Club in Ybor City. So what exactly is this event and what should you expect?
First of all, August 16th is National Rum Day, so it is fitting to have such an event on this day. The event is produced by Big City Events, the event production company that also created the Tampa Bay Margarita Festival, Bourbon & Brew Fest and Spring Beer Fling among many others.
What is the Summer of Rum Festival?
One of the largest festivals dedicated to Rum and we mean lots of it! In fact there will be 40 Types of Rum Drinks with 20 Rum Brands participating with an estimate of 30,000 Rum drinks to be served.
Where is the Summer of Rum?
The event takes place at the Cuban Club in Ybor City but will be both inside and outside with a capacity of over 6,000 people. The entire complex will be converted into a tropical Rum paradise.
What time should I arrive to the festival?
The event begins at 2pm and there will be an exclusive Rum Tasting Event from 2pm - 6pm which requires a separate ticket. Whether you plan to attend the Rum Tasting Event or not, we recommend arriving early to beat the crowds getting into the event.
Will there be food at the event?
Absolutely! Delicious food from many local Food Trucks will be located around the perimeter of the event.
How much are drinks if you do not have an Unlimited Rum VIP Ticket?
Drinks are actually priced equivalent or less than what it would cost at a bar. Rum Drinks will be between $5 - $7 a drink.
What happens if it rains on Saturday?
It won't rain and if it does, it will likely blow over like every summer storm in Tampa. In any event, the Cuban Club is huge inside and can accommodate almost every attendee.
Expect to have a Rum-azing good time!
If you have never attended a Big City Events production, then you will be in for a pleasant surprise!
Can I still get tickets?
Tickets should be available at the door but we do recommend purchasing them online in advance! Get Tickets
