Started in 2006, the Ryan Nece Foundation is designed to teach teenagers the Power of Giving. Through volunteer work and leadership programs, teens are ingrained with the importance of giving back to the community. Through the Power of Giving, the core belief of the foundation, students are taught the impact a small act of kindness can have on someone else’s life.
After a four-year career at UCLA, Nece enjoyed a seven-year career in the NFL. Playing for the Tampa Bay Bucs and Detroit Lions as a linebacker and special teams player, Nece used his platform to start the Ryan Nece Foundation in Tampa Bay. Now, instead of instilling fear into the minds of opposing teams, Nece instills the Power of Giving.
In what has become an annual tradition, the Ryan Nece Foundation provides food and hygiene products every Thanksgiving to those in need. Through their Thanksgiving celebration event, families are the recipients of a hot meal, entertainment, a family portrait, and a box of food items to take home with them. Special guests are often a part of the gathering ensuring these families go home with a smile on their faces.
On December 10th, the Ryan Nece Foundation will host a Power of Giving virtual fundraiser event from 7:30 pm to 10 pm. With a comedy set, “how-to” holiday cocktail mixing, celebrity cameos, musical performances, and more planned, plenty of fun will be had. As part of this exciting event, the impact the foundation’s students are having in the Tampa region will be displayed.
After registering for this free event, further information will be sent about how to participate in the online silent auction. Additionally, information as to how to pre-order the cocktail kit from Dark Door Spirits to follow along with the mixologist will be provided.
