It's back again.  Last month, Rock the Park fell short when a bout of rain ultimately ended a set from Tampa singer/songwriter, Rebekah Pulley.  This month, though, oh man.  If this string of awesome weather from the past few days keeps up, we're in store for on of the most comfortable Rock the Park events since its start.

Going down this Thursday, October 6 at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, Rock the Park is hosting a slew of great Florida artists this month including headliner Mrenc, Orlando electronica rockers The Pauses, Rec Center, and King of Spain.

Described as indielectonrica on the Rock the Park Facebook page, The Pauses play a brand of shimmering electro pop accentuated by vocals from notable frontwoman Tierney Tough.

Mrenc is the moniker of Orlando-based musician, Eric Collins who plays a unique brand of soulful R&B mixed with atmospheric elements and rock.

Rec Center is a veritable Tampa indie supergroup featuring New Granada Records founders Keith and Susy Ulrey.  Their relaxed compositions harken a sound perfect for the comfortable weather now remniscent of bands like Owen and Death Cab for Cutie.

Rock the Park kicks of at 6:30 p.m. at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in Downtown Tampa.  Head out there after work and see what makes the Tampa music scene so great.
