This week is Mother's Day in Tampa, so you likely need to take Mom out to eat as that's a given. And her penchant for alcohol and having to tolerate other relatives should determine if this is more liquid lunch than light dinner, but what about the rest of the day? Where can you take Mom for Mother's Day in Tampa and still remain the favorite child (or if you don't have to fight sibling rivalry, the only child)?
Here's a list of some different places to take Mom on Mother's Day in Tampa Bay. But the most important thing is to spend time with her, so check out where you can enjoy the day together!
Take Mom to A Museum, and Save a Few Bucks!
Your Mother is always worried about you spending too much money on her, so have a guilt-free trip to plenty of Bay Area museums and exhibits on Mother's Day in Tampa Bay! All the following places are offering free admission to Mom with a paying adult on Sunday.
Florida Aquarium: The shark exhibit is terrific, and it's been named one of the Top 10 aquariums in the USA.
ZooTampa at Lowry Park: Go see the new baby pygmy hippo! Adorbs!
Chihuly Collection: Dale Chihuly's Ruby Red Icicle Chandelier was created specifically for this exhibit.
Glazer Children's Museum: Perfect for the significant other that wants to treat Mom to a day of play for the kids away... she can still keep an eye on them for free!
Tampa Bay History Center: This is great for the youngsters that want to treat Mom: buy her a ticket, and any kid 7-17 is admitted free.

Mayfaire By-The-Lake
It's a bit of a hike to Polk County, but this festival is one of the best outdoor art events in America, and is set right on the gorgeous Lake Morton in Lakeland. Over 160 artists in this juried competition will compete for real prizes on May 12th and 13th. With food trucks and live entertainment, there's something for everyone... and you might even be able to pick up a piece of art for Mom to enjoy forever.
Tampa Bay Airfest Aboard the Yacht Starship
There are a few ways to enjoy Tampa Bay Airfest 2018, but Mom might enjoy heading on a cruise to see the Blue Angels and other amazing aircraft from aboard the Yacht StarShip. There are a few different options available, including a regular brunch, a VIP version, or just the chance to stand on-deck for the most amazing view of the aircraft above for Mother's Day in Tampa Bay. Bring earplugs, but tell Mom you love her before she puts them in!
Riverfront Rock at Lane Park Grand Opening
With the grand opening of the new Julian B. Lane Park this weekend, Riverfront Rock will be a fun and free place to bring Mom this Sunday. The Florida Orchestra will perform as the sun goes down, leading into Mother's Day fireworks on the west bank of the Hillsborough River. The new 25-acre park includes a Great Lawn, a brand-new boathouse, docks for those that wish to sail there, plenty of sports courts and fields, and a gorgeous view of Downtown Tampa.
