We've got more details regarding the first and ever-elusive Gasparilla Music Festival. It's going down on Saturday, March 10 right on the Hillsborough River at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in Downtown Tampa.
Fans can expect music on three stages, including the small amphitheater right along the river, which will host a variety of live, acoustic music.
So far, Gasparilla Music Festival organizers have been tight-lipped as to exactly who will appear at this inaugural music festival. Can we expect headliners like large scale national acts we'd typically see at the 1-800-ASK-GARY Amphitheatre or the Forum? Or the more mildly popular acts you'd expect to see at The Ritz or Jannus Live in St. Pete?
Only time will tell when the organizers announce the official lineup in a few weeks.
As far as we know, festival-goers can expect an eclectic variety of music ranging from roots rocks to New Orleans brass funk. Tickets will be a mere $15 and there will be plenty of local vendors on hand slinging the best in Tampa food and drink.
If a success, the Gasparilla Music Festival will join a slew of established music festivals around the Tampa Bay Area including WMNF's Tropical Heatwave in neighboring Ybor City, the Clearwater Jazz Holiday, Folkfest in Downtown St. Pete, and many more.
We'll keep you posted as the lineup and more details are announced regarding the 2012 Gasparilla Music Festival.
