Taking place on the third Thursday of every month, Flicks and Food Trucks provides Tampa Bay residents and visitors alike with a great way to enjoy unique cuisine from a handful of local food trucks, live, music, and more.
This month, Flicks and Food Trucks will take place at the Grand Central at Kennedy (1208 E. Kennedy Blvd., 33602) in Channelside on Thursday, May 17 from 6 to 10 p.m. This FREE event will feature 1o to 15 of Tampa's best food trucks, microbrew beer, live music, and a handful of local, independent short films being shown.
This month's featured food truck at Flicks and Food Trucks will be Captain Just's Crab House. This well-established mobile eatery serves up an assortment of delectable fresh seafood from sustainable markets.
Farm to Fresh Organics will also be featured and serve up a variety of freshly prepared Market Meals and Bites made from local, seasonal, and organic ingredients.
In addition to the food, there will be live music from acoustic duo 10th Concession and a handful of independent short films provided by The Tampa Bay Arts and Education Network (TBAE) and The Independents’ Film Festival (IFF).
If you go to Flicks and Food Trucks, it's advised that you bring cash. Some of the trucks take cards, but not all. Expect to wait in line (it's worth it, we promise) for some of these places as well. While food trucks may seem like fast food, these are real restaurants on wheels that prepare your food to order.
There is a parking garage at the Grand Central at Kennedy, but each space has a two-hour maximum time limit. Additional parking can be found at the Port Authority Parking Garage (810 Channelside Dr.) right up the street.
