Just announced by our friends at the Gasparilla Music Foundation, the wildly popular Silent Disco returns for a second year and this year, they're taking it to a whole new level. Sponsored by Choice HR, choose your dance experience and jam in silence to the best Deep House, Hip Hop and Top 40's tunes. We hear the 2016 Silent Disco will introduce some new "WOW" elements and lots of special surprises for a can't miss "silent" experience.
What? Silence at a music festival? Don’t worry, it won’t be silent for long.
Here’s how it works:
Step into the Illuminated Kiley Gardens area of the festival on Saturday March 12th from 6:30 to 9:30 PM, snap a photo at the new "Selfie and Repeat" experience, don a pair of specially designed three channel lighted headphones, wade through the dazzling lights and join the dance frenzy.
Suddenly the silence turns into music madness with your choice of three streams of music with special color coordinated lighting. Push a button on your headset and choose to groove to Deep House from returning Los Angeles’ dj ELi M; Hip Hop from Orlando DJ Nick James and the latest Top 40 tunes from returning DJ Ruff Ryda.
With lights bouncing off the Hillsborough River, Tampa's Downtown and the splendid University of Tampa Minarets, match up with friends to continue the jam or remove your headphones and marvel at a garden full of glowing dancing silence.
DJ Eli M, one of the hottest DJ's on the club circuit, returns for a second year of silence at GMF. Influenced by DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Revolution and Moby, Eli M throws down Deep House, Progressive and Techno tunes that will sweep you off your dancing feet.
Making his debut appearance at GMF is Orlando based DJ Nick James. A 16 year veteran in the industry, James has performed around the world at notable festivals and venues including Coachella, Ultra Music Festival, and Privelege in Ibiza, Spain. James is also the resident DJ at Tampa's raging Filthy Richard Party. Set your channel and jam to the latest in Hip Hop from DJ Nick James.
Also returning to the decks is DJ Ruff-Rida. He'll be throwing down the best in decades top 40 dance tunes.
The Silent Disco experience is just a sliver of the offerings at the gargantuan Gasparilla Music Festival, taking place March 12th and 13th in Downtown Tampa. Expanding to five stages for the 5th Annual Festival, GMF 2016 features over 50 musical acts, an elevated VIP Experience sponsored by the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, a Kids Fest, Yoga & Meditation sessions, a Sunday Only Latin Stage, local vendors and delicious eats from some of Tampa Bay's favorite restaurants. Admission to the Silent Disco is included with festival admission.
