PowerPoint presentations have a bad reputation, but the insanely fast talks of Ignite Tampa 2017 will be anything but boring or predictable. On Thursday, June 29 at 7:00 PM, 20 influential speakers will give fast and furious five-minute presentations at the historic Cuban Club Theater in Ybor City. Each presentation is accompanied by 20 slides automatically advancing every 15 seconds, so the speakers share ideas quickly and stick to their main points. With its thrilling presentations that will make you laugh and cry as well as educate and entertain you, Ignite Tampa has been a sold-out event since Technova Florida, Inc., a Tampa-based nonprofit, established the Tampa talks in 2008. They will no doubt fill the theater again this Thursday night!
Often described as “geeky fun,” Ignite talks include a wide range of topics meant to inspire and entertain. Some presentations will be motivational like Peter Radizeski’s “5 Tips for a Little More Happy” while others will be more snarky like “It’s Your Fault if Your Job is Sucking the Life Out of You” by Ashley Grant. The lineup also includes insightful presentations like “Smart Innovation: What Can Government Learn from Startups?” by Chris Paradies as well as totally random talks like Mary Saville’s “Calculus is Gorgeous. No, Really!” Want to see all of the topics and speakers? Here they are:
