Bring a toy, or toys, and help spread the joy of the holiday season while treating yourself to a festive evening filled with music and featuring food and drink. This annual event is hosted by the George Edgecomb Bar Association (GEBA) and benefits the children of homeless families who are being helped in a multitude of ways by one of the Tampa Bay area's most impactful non-profit organizations, Metropolitan Ministries.
The 2018 GEBA Holiday Party requests guests come bearing unwrapped gifts. The toys, games, stuffed animals, sports gear and other holiday-appropriate donations for youngsters are sure to bring smiles to the faces of the girls and boys who will receive the presents. The collected items will be distributed in time for Christmas courtesy of Metropolitan Ministries. Making sure little ones receive gifts during the holidays is part of the support Metropolitan Ministries provides to homeless families and those at risk of joining their ranks. Without the generosity of others, many of these families may not have any or many, toys for their sons and daughters to enjoy. It is all part of the organization's mission to provide services "that alleviate suffering, promote dignity and instill self-sufficiency."
The Saturday, Dec. 8, holiday event will be held from 7 - 11 p.m. at the Seminole Heights Garden Center where a DJ will be keeping the beat going and the crowd on its feet throughout the night. It's a great way to do a good deed and donate toys for local families in need while enjoying a fun event too!
This Seminole Heights event is open to the public but registration is required. GEBA is Tampa’s largest predominantly African-American voluntary bar association and has been recognizing contributions of African-Americans within the legal profession and judiciary since 1982.
