Music and free stuff; if you don't like at least one of these, you might want to check your pulse. Judging by its eclectic live music scene and boatload of free concerts throughout the city, Tampa and its residents are quite fond of each.
The Hyde Park Village Live Music Series has been a free live music staple in Tampa for 24 great years now.
Taking place on the last Wednesday of each month from May to October, the live music series brings Hyde Park residents and visitors together to celebrate the rich heritage and vibrant culture of this quaint Tampa community.
The monthly concert takes place at the fountain (1612 W. Snow Circle) in Hyde Park Village with a local band playing a set from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Bring your family, (leashed) pets, and enjoy a drink or two to the sounds of great Tampa music from the likes of bands including the Shake Society, Trained Wreck, and more.
Beverages available include $3 16-ounce draft beers, bottled beer, Barefoot wine, bubbly, and Opulent Vodka. Best of all, proceeds from these drink sales go to a different charity each month. Some of these charities include the Humane Society of Tampa, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Gasparilla International Film Festival.
Once again, admission is completely free as well as parking while it lasts. If you're looking for a great time in Hyde Park without breaking the bank this summer, this live music series is a solid bet.
