When you roll off the rink after an energetic hour of skating and sit down to your seaweed salad and St. Tropez Martini, you know you’re not at your mom’s skating rink—or even the one you remember from your childhood. Pattinis Bistro and Skate is across from Hooters on Gandy Boulevard in South Tampa and is the perfect venue for a fun, unique and high-energy evening.

Even if you’re a non-skater, you can nosh on apps like the andouille jalapeno corn dog with raspberry Dijon dipping sauce, or fries with truffle cheese sauce or chicken empanadas served with aji panca crema while your buddies take a turn or two. Or nibble on one of three naan pizzettes, the Margherita with the basil pesto and truffle balsamic glaze, perhaps.

There’s a fine burger, chicken sandwich, salad selection and small plate offerings such as the irresistible chicken and waffles made with ancho chile red velvet waffles, buttermilk boneless fried chicken, bourbon butter and cinnamon apple drizzle.

Sushi lovers can enjoy a variety of rolls, sashimi, and nigiri options and a late-night menu is expected to be added to the mix soon too.

The bar at Pattinis is subtle enough to make you think you’re at the table of the fanciest mixologist in town. With something called “It’s a Party in my Mouth” in your hand, there’s little doubt you’re going to have a fun night. After 10 p.m. Pattini’s only allows 21-and-above patrons to enter.

Of course, you came to the rink to skate! Here's the scoop.  As well as regular skating sessions, Pattinis offers lessons (free for kids under 5), hip skating workout sessions (as well as non-skating fitness classes), and “Battle of the Skates,” which will allow you to show off your best moves and maybe win a prize! There’s also an arcade area with games such as Terminator and Walking Dead.

While Pattinis is the ideal venue for a night out, it’s also an excellent option for your next big birthday, milestone event, corporate team building exercise and maybe even prom night. The Pattini’s card allows you to rack up rewards; the venue offers a $5 Pattinis card when you bring in a church program or high school football ticket stub.
