Living in Florida, we know that when bad things happen, communities will come together to help and make it to the other side stronger. The Dishes and Wishes charity event on September 28, is based on this community understanding and strength. Make-A-Wish Southern Florida invites the Tampa Bay community to come together for a night of philanthropy to help raise money for local wish fulfillment.
Dishes and Wishes is a nonprofit charity event featuring the best food from some of Tampa Bay’s premier restaurants, specialty cocktails and an open bar, live music and live silent auctions. Last year’s event raised more than $190,000 which granted 24 local wishes. This Friday, Armature Works will be transformed as the Tampa Bay community attempts to beat last year’s numbers and help even more children and their families see their dreams come true.
The restaurants that will be featured at the event include American Social, Besito Mexican, Buya Ramen, Cooper’s Hawk, Eddie V’s, Maggiano’s Little Italy, Oystercatcher’s, Roy’s, Sea Salt and The Mill. Your favorite Armature locations will also be serving: Butcher n’ Barbeque (BNB), Empamamas, Hemingway’s and Steelbach. Nothing Bunt Cakes will provide the dessert with their delicious, personal bunt cakes in an array of inventive flavors.
Since 1983, Make-A-Wish Southern Florida has made nearly 12,000 wishes come true for children who have critical illnesses. Their goal is to make sure that every eligible child in South Florida will have a wish granted. The average cost of wish fulfillment is $8,000 and as a nonprofit, Make-A-Wish relies on community donations to keep granting wishes.
Help Make-A-Wish by enjoying good food, good drinks and bidding high at the auction to send as many more kids on fun vacations, help them meet their heroes or give them the chance to live their dream.
Armature Works is already a great way to spend a Friday night, made even better by helping a truly worthy cause. Tickets are only $150 for the Dishes and Wishes event, but the joy felt at the granting of a child’s wish is priceless.
