The Florida Strawberry Festival is an annual event that takes place in Plant City, FL. With the warm Florida weather, Plant City has been known for their winter strawberry harvesting. The Strawberry Festival was started in 1930 as a way to promote the local strawberry season during times other areas can't harvest strawberries. The event now last for 11 days and brings over 500,000 people each year. There are several things to do for people of all ages; petting zoo, carnival games and rides, pig races, beauty pageant, vendors offering strawberry themed souvenirs, and much, much more.
