Although COVID-19 has been affecting businesses worldwide, construction in Downtown Tampa continues to steadily progress.
HRI Properties of New Orleans is set to open its dual-branded hotel, the Hyatt House and Hyatt Place in less than two months. The hotel is now accepting reservations starting March 1. The 17-story hotel will have 345 guestrooms, 4,800 square feet of meeting space, 3,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and 127 public parking spaces. The project has been keeping construction workers in jobs during the pandemic, 5-10% of which are women, according to Nick Nieto, General Superintendent at DPR Construction, contractors for the project.
Located in the Heart of Downtown Tampa
The $6 million dollar hotel project, across the street from Tampa's City Hall, is located at the Southeast corner of N Florida Avenue and E Kennedy Boulevard. Some rooms will feature kitchenette amenities for long term business travelers and families. The decor will be locally-inspired reflecting the charm and character of Tampa. The chain will offer affordable logging targeting Amalie Arena events like Tampa Bay Lightning home games and concerts in Downtown Tampa. The hotel is also conveniently located to The Tampa Riverwalk and the Tampa Convention Center.
Rooftop Pool & Other Amenities
The hotel features a rooftop pool and will house retail shops and restaurants. Starbucks has announced its plans to open at the hotel. Other amenities include a 24-hour workout room and free public computers in the hotel business center.
Great Views of Downtown Tampa
In addition to the great views the hotel will offer, the convenient location provides connectivity between downtown Tampa and area attractions like the Florida Aquarium and the University of Tampa's Plant Hall.
